Great Souvenirs You Should Buy In Taitung

Hung Kuang universities discovered his artwork, and successfully petitioned the Taichung mayor to preserve the collection of 台東伴手禮店台東 名產 11 remaining houses. The village soon acquired local fame, and is quickly becoming one of Taiwan’s hottest new attractions.
This is one example which illustrates just how pervasive the Taoist religious canon is in Taiwan. Check the bus timetables so you don’t miss the bus on the way down, because they only come every hour. I’ve seen a hundred temples during my time in Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, India, and other parts of Asia. Wenwu Temple still stands out to me as one of the more magnificent temples. It’s a little bit hard to get to during a Sun Moon Lake day trip from Taichung, but it’s 100% worth the hassle. Do you souvenir shopping in all the gift shops and handicraft shops along the same street. I recommend heading to the pier and getting on a boat as the first step in your Sun Moon Lake itinerary.

I asked my boss to supply me with some personal information. I promised my employer that I would be home by 4 p.m. Worried that my boss would think I had no "palabra de honor" , I apologized for my tardiness right away. (I guess she noticed that I was drenched in sweat.) To my pleasant surprise, my employer had already given Amah her bath. All content and photographs copyright ms travel solo. For starters, the staff at Miyahara will hand you this menu while you wait in a queue. It definitely helps to minimize the wait time while everyone drools over all the ice-cream counter.
There is some food and some stalls with handcraft stuff and some shops in the containers too. It was nice and I believe quiet a good place to go with kids on an evening. It also offers well-priced culinary delights, assorted shopping areas and arts performances, making it well worth a visit. Visitors to Taitung will find that the Traveller-INN Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel is a fantastic accommodation choice.
In the past, it could only be accessed by wading through the sea at low tide, but in 1987, the eight-arched Sanxiantai Footbridge was completed, linking the island with mainland Taiwan. Sanxiantai has since become one of the east coast’s most famous landmarks. The bridge was reopened at the end of 2015 after a temporary closure to repair damage due to erosion. Sanxiantai is one of Taiwan’s most evocative natural religious landscapes. These tales illustrate the very different histories, religions, and cultures of these two ethnic groups. Among Taiwanese adherents of Taoism, it is said that Sanxiantai got its name because three of the Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology once stopped on the island.

As described at the top of this post, Taiwan is home to many night markets, but Fengjia is the biggest of them all. Taichung is an incredible city that is fast becoming one of Taiwan’s most popular holiday destinations. Here are five of the best locally made souvenirs you can pick up next time you’re in this wonderful west coast city. In coordination with festivals through the year, Taichung City holds various events that let people have a fun time in the city.
And no, you can’t take that piñata home either. We tried many dishes tonight, too many to all post here, so I’ll write a dedicated post about Smokey Joe’s soon.

It’s virtually in every travel guide and blog post about Taichung. Housed in an old opthalmology clinic that became Taichung’s Public Health Bureau before being turned into a pastry shop, Miyahara is famous for its desserts, most notably its pineapple cakes. Here’s a sample itinerary you can follow as well as a map indicating where each of these places are.
Taiwan isn’t just the land of milk tea — it’s actually well-known for its rich tea culture, and is home to some of the best oolong in the world. Some even refer to Taiwanese oolong as the ‘champagne of oolong tea’! Besides this popular product, you’ll find a range of white teas, green teas, and black teas. Originating from Taichung, these Taiwanese pastries have soft, flaky crusts and delicious malt sugar fillings!
While that’s true, I think it’s more than that. There’s no better way to end a day of traveleating in Taichung than a visit to Fengjia Night Market.

They have a large, white sign that says 狀元 in green and 清蒸肉圓 , which roughly translates as ‘top student’ steamed glutinous rice flour dumplings. Though the name is a bit self explanatory, it may be helpful to know that these are large, gloopy, semi - transparent dumplings with pork filling. Most places sell ba wan fried, but this is one of the few in Taichung that sells them steamed.
(It was hilarious!) To make a long story short, I agreed to be his girlfriend. This guy was one of the top singers in our village. In fact, people requested him to sing that night. One of the people behind me asked, "How old are you?" I replied, "I'm 16." "Age doesn't matter when you are in love," one of them said. The inspiring story behind Rainbow Village is as uplifting as its colourful streets. Originally named Caihongjuan Village, it was a low cost village built for veteran soldiers in the city. 1,200 houses were built in the village and, as time passed, the area became more desirable.
There is a small white sign with blue letters that say GAP displayed on their stand. There are no price signs, so you have to ask 怎麼賣? 麻糬之家 is inside the market building near an entrance on大明街9之1號 (9-1 Daming Street). There is a stand with a purple sign with white letters that say 麻糬之家 . They sell mochi, herb jelly and vegetarian gelatin.
